The properties in Stonehill Road are for the most part large, detached early nineteenth century houses. However, a disadvantage of the houses as they were laid out is that they have small kitchens, sometimes with breakfast room and often with scullery and pantry rooms often housed in outbuildings, that were designed for a different way of living.
