The Practice has carried out a number of refurbishments and extensions to different properties in this road. The properties were constructed as part of a residential development in the early 1990s as semi-detached pairs. The houses as built were large and comfortable family homes but at ground floor level have usually required re-planning at the rear to provide living/dining/kitchen space that relates well to the rear garden.
In each of the projects which the practice has undertaken, although the objectives have been usually similar, the interpretation, design and finish have been individual and reflect Client preferences. This has resulted for example in different external door treatments ranging from a large sliding folding assembly on one project, while another has a glazed screen with a simple French door set.
At roof level, treatment has ranged from a continuous strip of glazing at the perimeter on one scheme to a substantial glazed lantern on another.
