Adie Road, W6
Refurbishment of Victorian terraced house, with alterations and additions The house consisted of a basement, ground, and first floor and was in a reasonable state of repair, but not decorated or fitted out to the Clients' tastes. The basement was also separated from the upper part of the house.
The whole house was restored and redecorated, including the installation of a new staircase to link the basement with the ground Floor. In addition, a new single storey rear extension was constructed using second hand London Stock bricks and incorporating a pitched roof finished in slate.
During the process of construction, a major structural column was identified
as being unstable and had to be completely rebuilt following instruction from the local authority Building Inspector.
Planning Permission was obtained in the Spring and the building works were completed, on time, in October.
