Villa Myrtia, Greece
A development consisting of a new villa, music room and swimming pool for local clients. Designed to be structurally and environmentally modern (the buildings had to resist earthquakes) and yet to respect the local vernacular. The walls were constructed using an inner skin of hollow clay blocks and an outer skin of local stone each piece of which was shaped on site from rough blocks. The music room was designed to house a grand piano, and both good acoustics and accurate climate control were of paramount importance.
